Robert Sinclair, Chief Executive, AMI and AFB
Robert helped establish the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) as an independent entity on 1 February 2012. Robert joined the former parent trade body, AIFA, in October 2006, initially looking after the Association of Finance Brokers and since 2008, AMI. He looks after the day-to-day running of AMI and AFB by delivering member information and services, lobbying regulators and policy-makers and developing press relations. Robert is a regular speaker at industry conferences and contributor to the trade press.
He brings a wealth of industry experience to the trade body having held a number of front line sales roles in personal, private and corporate banking combined with experience in marketing, training and internal audit with both HSBC and Santander.
Robert is also a non-executive director of the Buckinghamshire Building Society.
Martin Sims, National Distribution Manager, United Trust Bank.
Joining UTB in a newly created role, Martin is responsible for ensuring Distribution channels are aligned with the Bank’s plans to broaden their product proposition.
With experience including a recent Board Director position at HLPartnership (Mortgage & Protection AR Network), several (successful!)business start-ups and having headed up Distribution at launch for Castle Trust, Martin has over twenty years of Financial Services experience.
Craig McKinlay, New Business Director, Kensington Mortgages
Craig has been New Business Director at Kensington Mortgages since Oct 2017. He is responsible for Sales and Distribution Strategy for Kensington as well as leading the extensive teams that support Intermediaries including the Telephone Business Development Unit, the National Accounts team and the Field Sales teams. Kensington is the longest established Specialist lender and it is Craig’s role to support brokers by utilising the extensive data available to help them provide great service to their customers. Kensington has a leading position in both Residential and BTL Mortgages and have broadened their proposition to include High Earners, Young Professionals and Later Life Lending. Craig was previously Mortgages New Business Director at Lloyds Banking Group responsible for Products and Pricing across Lloyds, Halifax and BM Solutions.
Phil Rickards, Head of BM Solutions
As head of BM Solutions, Phil has responsibility for BM's business development teams within the intermediary market. This includes the nationwide team of BDMs and the telephone-based BDM Team. An extensive knowledge of the BM business and the buy-to-let market itself have enabled Phil to lead BM through market highs and lows, ensuring consistency of support for both the buy-to-let sector and the intermediary mortgage market.
In a 33 year career, Phil's previous roles have included Financial Adviser, Regional Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Head of Sales. Prior to joining BM, Phil was marketing manager at TSB and has held other posts with Pearl Assurance and the Commercial Bank of Wales. He is the current Chairman of IMLA and an ambassador for the housing charity Shelter.
